Maintenance of my airbag product

In&box waterproofness

The In&box can be used in rainy weather provided it is properly inserted into the vest and worn under a motorcycle jacket.

However, it was not designed to be submerged.

Cleaning

Your airbag product is not machine washable. Depending on the model of your airbag, there are 3 ways to wash it:

  • With a damp cloth: all products
  • By hand: eVest Pro (Held ), Airscud Flex (Tucano Urbano)
  • Or with a water jet: eVest Pro (Held ), Armour shirt (RST), U04 and U05 (Ixon), Evo and Evolution + (Furygan), Airscud Flex (Tucano Urbano), Ipro (iXS)
Washing with a damp cloth
  • Remove the In&box
  • Moisten a sponge with a little soapy water
  • Clean the textile parts of your airbag

Be careful: never wet the back of the airbag where the electronics are located.

  • Remove excess soap with the rinsed sponge.
  • Dry with a clean cloth
  • Leave the airbag to dry on a hanger for 12 hours, away from direct sunlight.
Hand wash (if the shell of your airbag is completely removable)

CAUTION: the total washing time must not exceed 10 minutes to limit water penetration into the airbag.

CAUTION: to avoid damage, do not force the connector. If in doubt, refer to the post-inflation procedure for instructions on how to remove and reinstall the Inflator.)

  • Remove the In&box
  • Open the zip on the shell and disconnect the connector
  • Unzip the shell completely to remove it
  • Unscrew the Inflator, taking care not to lose the seal
  • Remove the back protector
  • Fill a clean container with cold, clear water and a little soap or mild detergent
  • Soak your airbag in the water, taking care not to let any water in through the Alu cap
  • Wash it gently by hand without wringing it out
  • Rinse with clean water
  • Using a microfibre cloth, gently dry the Alu cap

Leave the airbag to dry on a hanger for 12 hours, out of direct sunlight.

Warning: never wring out your airbag.

When your airbag is dry :

  • Reposition the liner by passing the Alu cap through the hole
  • Fasten the zips on the shell and close them halfway
  • Check that the seal is firmly in place in the Alu cap
  • Screw the Inflator back on
  • Plug in the connector
  • Clip on the inflator and check that the Alu cap, i.e. the metal part, is securely in place
  • Then close the zip completely
  • Insert the In&box. The Inflator LED in the top left-hand corner should light up green

  • Remove the In&box
  • Open the zip on the shell to disconnect the connector
  • Unscrew the Inflator (taking care not to lose the seal)
  • Remove the back protector
  • Close the zip on the hull
  • Hang your airbag on a coat hanger
  • Rinse the airbag with clear, cold water, always keeping a distance of 1 metre if you are using a water jet (garden hose or shower head), and 2 metres if you are using a high-pressure jet.
  • Use a microfibre cloth and gently dry the Alu cap

Leave the airbag to dry on its hanger for 12 hours, always away from direct sunlight

Warning: never try to wring out your airbag.

When your airbag is dry :

  • Open the zip on the shell
  • Reposition the back protector
  • Check that the gasket is properly seated in the Alu cap
  • Screw the Inflator back on
  • Plug in the connector
  • Clip on the Inflator and check that the Alu cap is securely in place
  • Gently wipe the connector with a microfibre cloth
  • Insert the In&box. The inflator LED in the top left-hand corner should turn green.

Temperature of use / of charge / of storage

  • The system must be used exclusively at temperatures between -20°C and 55°C (-4°F and 131°F).
  • The system must be charged exclusively at temperatures between 0 and 40°C (32°F and 104°F).
  • The system must be storaged exclusively at temperatures between -20 and 30°C (-4°F and 86°F).

Prolonged exposure of the system to temperatures exceeding this range may compromise its functionality.

Store the product airbag and the In&box in a clean and ventilated area, away from humidity (de 45% à 75%) and direct sunlight, and away from impacts and pressure.

Do not store the airbag product or In&box near flammable surfaces or objects.

Do not leave the airbag product exposed to direct sunlight (under a windscreen, in a car or in a topcase for example).

ALTITUDE

The airbag product must be used exclusively at an altitude below 5000 meters.

Maintenance

Recommendations regarding your airbag product maintenance are indicated in the user manual supplied with your airbag product. For this, contact your local reseller or the partner brand of the product.

The In&motion airbag system has been conceived to withstand 3 to 5 inflations depending on the product reference and subject to the inflation procedure having always been respected.

RECYCLING

In accordance with local laws and regulations, you must dispose of your product and / or its battery separately from household waste.

When the product’s validity expires, please bring it to a collection system designated by local authorities. Separate collection and recycling of your product and/or battery during disposal will help preserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled to protect human health and the environment.
