In&motion and Liberty Rider share a common goal: rider safety. The Emergency Call feature will be available free of charge to In&members who have subscribed to the Revolution membership (annual or monthly).

By combining airbag deployment with the emergency call from Liberty Rider, In&motion takes another step towards complete rider protection, providing a solution that protects during and after a crash.

What is an emergency call?

The “Emergency Call” feature originally comes from an in-vehicle system that can trigger emergency services manually or automatically in the event of an accident. When an emergency call is triggered, a set of data is sent to the operator to help the response:

  • The exact time and location of the incident
  • Vehicle identification

Liberty Rider adapted the existing in-vehicle system and made it available to all riders by developing its app…

“An emergency call system available to every rider.”

When the In&motion airbag deploys, the alert is sent to Inter Mutuelle Assistance (IMA). IMA will then try to call the rider 3 times. If the rider does not answer, the emergency services are automatically alerted and sent to the scene of the accident.

What is the benefit of having the emergency call triggered with the airbag?

After an accident, it is often difficult to reach the emergency services. Several studies show that an emergency call significantly reduces the severity and potential after-effects of accidents.

That is why Liberty Rider and In&motion developed this system, which automatically triggers the emergency call when the airbag inflates. Efficient and reliable assistance.

How exactly does it work?

Once the airbag has inflated, here is what happens in 4 steps:

  • 1/ An alarm goes off on your phone: the Liberty Rider alarm sounds for 2 minutes, giving you time to collect yourself and report how you are. On the screen, you can either say that everything is fine or call 112 directly.
  • 2/ Liberty Rider is alerted: if you take no action during these 2 minutes, your location and all the necessary information are sent to Inter Mutuelles Assistance (IMA), available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • 3/ IMA will contact you 3 times: to make sure that intervention is needed and to get all the information about the situation.
  • 4/ Emergency services step in: if you are unable to answer or need help, the emergency services will come to the exact location of the accident.

Do you have questions about this feature? Please check our FAQ.

"One always hopes never to have to test safety equipment in real life, and yet the question remains whether our gear will save us or not if things go wrong. Well, I now have my answer! Yesterday, a traffic light, a line of cars turning left, me opposite going through the light, a car pulling out in a turn without having seen me and crossing right in front of me, with no way for me to avoid the impact. I must have hit the ground hard because I lost consciousness. The helmet is obviously a write-off, but the airbag deployed properly and very, very, very probably spared me serious injuries to the chest or neck, given that my head (helmeted) hit the ground hard enough for me to lose consciousness immediately on impact. [...] I had to go to A&E for normal monitoring after losing consciousness, and that's all. [...] Besides, I had volunteered to test, in preview, the automatic emergency call feature that triggers when the In&motion airbag inflates, and I was notified that I had been selected for this test a few days before the accident. I activated the emergency call in the In&motion app the day before the crash... So the emergency call procedure did kick in: the In&motion app set off an alarm which I did not stop since I was unconscious. A call centre then tried to call me and, with no answer from me (still out cold), triggered the call for help, giving my GPS coordinates from the point where the airbag deployed. Exactly the kind of situation where such a feature makes complete sense! It goes without saying that I come out of this even more convinced of the absolute value of this equipment, without which I probably wouldn't be here calmly writing you this little report :) "
